M+, Hong Kong's new museum for visual culture, presents “Asian Design: Histories, Collecting, Curating" - an evening of talks and panel discussions bringing together leading, international scholars and curators to explore the shifting parameters, and their conceptual and methodological implications, of historicising, collecting and curating Asian Design. As M+ prepares to build the first museum collection of design and architecture of its kind, what are the local-global issues, multiple narratives and cross-disciplinary approaches that need to be considered? Participants include Paola Antonelli (Museum of Modern Art, New York), Doryun Chong (Museum of Modern Art, New York), Joseph Grima (Domus, Milan), Christine Guth (Royal College of Art, London), Victor Margolin (University of Illinois, Chicago), Kayoko Ota (OMA/AMO, Tokyo), Divia Patel (Victoria & Albert Museum, London), Matthew Turner (Edinburgh Napier University), and Wim de Wit (Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles).
